Sas101

The design of this low occasional table sprung from the G.low table.

Instead of a light being incorporated into the design, my aim was to create a low table that stood out from the already en masse ones.

Thereby, using materials that were common place & easy to obtain. For the top, I used an organic shape cut-out from birch plywood - standard 8'x4' from most timber yards. The underneath or legs was the main challenge. Various attempts were made until I finally chose the use of bicycle forks!

Boardroom Table

Brief: To design a boardroom table within a rectangle shaped room measuring 6750mm x 3600mm. The client wanted something modern such as wood, glass and steel/metal together.

I presented 3 initial concepts, together with 3 scaled prototypes. Finally, it was agreed that one of my designs would be developed by seeing 2 different variations of the top. See A & B

The table, had it gone into production(unfortunately, it didn't), would have been L 3000 H 750 W 1351. The underneath would have been constructed from 60mm square aluminium tubing. The top would have been 15mm all glass(3 pieces) with acid effect & colour.
